The Future is in Front

I sit here writing this with a certain amount of trepidation.

A head of me a is long journey of hardwork, Trails and failing and I’m feel scared. But in a good way. Because no matter what happens I know that I have tried and that something important.

My Girlfriend’s merecat Raul there in his hat watching me. Unusually quiet for him. I think Steff has sent him to kept watch over me and make sure I my work.

So here is the first pic of the work I’m doing the for the outline. So here goes and hold on to you hat (If your wearing on. I’m looking at you Raul.)

What A lovely Wedding.

Hi All

Just catching up with my sleep . Went to the lovely wedding of my good friends Hannah and Rich.

It was probably the best wedding I’ve been to ever.

The down side is I did not get much writing done over the weekend as spending seven and a half hour on a coach will do that to you but as usual my brain was fizzing with ideas the whole time. Why do ideas pop into your head when you have to be up in four hours to catch said coach. I guess that is why I would like to be a writer. To get these F-ING ideas out of my tired bonce. Oh Fingers Crossed then.

Let’s get scared

What A novel Idea.

So I’m going to right a novel and I’m a little scared. But in a good way.  Not that isn’t to ground shaking as most people who know me know I have illusion of be coming a writer.

I remember Raymond Bradbury saying on his obituaries ‘To be a writer you have to write’. I’m paraphrasing of cause but those words have haunted me. So over the last year I’ve been trying to dramatically increase my reading and my writing. I have had mixed success but over the last couple of mounts have written half a dozen shorts stories. I have no doubt that if I can keep it up I will be able to produce another 6 which strangely would bring in line with my unlikely new year resolution to write one short story a month for this year. When I set that I actually never thought I would make it.

Now this leaves in a strange place of wondering what to do next. Should I carry on writing shorts stories or try something different. So what I’m going to do is try something different, a  novel. Well try is the word, I just want to push my self really.

So with that in mind I’m going to change this website into more of a journal of my trials and tribulations. I am fortunate in a kind of way as nobody but me reads this site. It gives a flexibility to change directions without upsetting my audience. So I’ll try and update this site on a weekly basis as to my progress and other issues I’ve found and may be someone else might it useful.

So summary it is going to be a scary ride but I’m really looking forward to it.

So while you’ve been away

So I’ve not been updating this site as much as I would have like. The reasons for this are many.

  • One being I have a stressful jobs that leaves me very tired.

  • Another big one is i’m just plain lazy and better people than me do me do this.[foot]I can recommend the Cockeyed Caravan for this. I’ve added a larger number of pages to my Reading List for when a chance to read them :-).[/foot]

  • Another is not many people have visited my humble section of the inter webs. This was a major killer for motivation.

  • Then simple expediency. In that I had planned to put my short stories on here but that would have left an agent or editor with nothing left to sell as it be available for free.

So sum up I will put my shorts on here but only after they have not been not sold for what ever reason. If by any fluke they do manage to sell i’ll link to them here as well.

Also I have other plans as well for this site and I’ll let know later :-).

Shadowrun Soon

Well it is official. Shadowrun will return on the 25th of july. It’s going to be the end of my productive month :-).

I’ve completed my first short story which I hope to have edited by the end of the month. Hope you will enjoy it.

Well Runners I’ll see you when the drek hits the fan.

What do you write like?

While checking out Will Wheaton’S wonderful Will.Net site  I Saw that he had taken a test on a web site called I write like.  It had revealed that he writes like Cory Doctorow .

So I thought I’d give it a try. Well save to say my results where a little bit different, as apparently I write like Arthur Conan Doyle :-). Well It’s all just a bit of fun and probably just random selection but it did make me smile.

Fan-fiction versus Amazon

Fight Right? But no.

Strange thing is Amazon has decided that one of it’s untapped markets is Fan-Fiction. Yep that’s right. It amazing how Amazon can see anything thing as a way of making money for its self. It is not necessarily a bad thing but interesting.

They plan to pay the Fan-Fiction writer and the originating author a cut of the profits. That could be interesting prospect. Fifty shades of grey with the original Edward of Twilight fame for the love of god. No more please I’ll even pay you money.

I’m not an expert on Fan-Fiction so I can’t tell you if this good thing for that genre. I’ve got a friend who knows more on this subject so I’ll get her feelings and expand on the subject at a later date.

Catch you later peeps.
